About Farm Waste Solutions
Professional agricultural waste recycling since 2024
Our Story
Farm Waste Solutions was founded in 2024 by Ian Kitson and Ed Du Val, combining decades of experience in agricultural waste management with a commitment to sustainable recycling.
Ian Kitson sold his previous, long-standing farm waste business in 2023, with the intention of semi-retiring. However, this didn't work out and he recognised the ongoing need for a reliable recycling service for farmers across Southern England.
Ian first recognised this need back in 2006, when upcoming legislation banning farmers from burning their waste meant there was a need for a service to dispose of these materials with a proper audit trail.

With decades of experience in farm waste management, Ian brings unparalleled expertise to the business. Having run a successful farm waste business for many years before selling in 2023, Ian understands the challenges farmers face and is committed to providing reliable, cost-effective recycling solutions.
Ed Du Val
Ed is the managing partner of Apsley Farms, one of the UK's leading anaerobic digestion plants producing bio-energy (gas & electricity), food grade CO2, compost mulch, and dry ice. The operation revolves around sustainably growing maize, whole crop barley and rye to supply the plant, with contract growers receiving digestate in return.
Our Commitment to Sustainability
Through our partnership with Apsley Farms and Solway Recycling, we ensure that your farm waste is processed responsibly. All plastics are baled at our yard and sent to UK-based recyclers where materials are shredded, washed and melted down into polymer pellets ready for reuse.
